Spring 2023 call for proposals
We invite UNM voting faculty on the Main and Branch Campuses to submit proposals for internal funding for small grants (budgets that are less than $5,000 per proposal), and large grants (budgets between $4,000 and a maximum of $10,000), with project duration of 18 months from the receipt of funds. The online proposal portal can be found at: rac.unm.edu/spring-2023/ beginning February 1, 2023. The proposal submission deadline is February 22, 2023. RAC Committee will complete their deliberations by early March 2023.
RAC funds UNM faculty scholarship, whether it be creative endeavors (including performances and materials), or more traditional research. The goal of RAC is to support new, innovative research with some priority given to junior faculty and to faculty in fields where there is less external funding available. RAC funded projects reflect the diversity of research and creative activity on our campuses.
The proposal submission guidelines are available at the UNM RAC website: rac.unm.edu/guidelines/ We have recently modified the review rubric for proposals and implemented a system of ranking RAC priorities, The rubric can be found with the posted guidelines. Again, we invite all interested UNM faculty to submit proposals. If you have questions about or need assistance with your proposal, please contact our office: fsrac@unm.edu.
Please note that if you have received a RAC grant in the past, and have an overdue final report, you may log in under My Proposals at rac.unm.edu/myproposals/ to upload a final report. Final reports for previous RAC grants are required for consideration of subsequent funding.
HSC faculty, are not eligible for this award. HSC has its own RAC award for HSC faculty. For more information on the HSC RAC award, please visit: hsc.unm.edu/research/rac/. RAC funding is available to faculty from branch campuses of UNM. We encourage our colleagues at the various campuses to submit proposals for RAC funding.
Previously funded proposals, titles, awardee, affiliation, and budget are listed on the RAC website: rac.unm.edu/calls/funded/ Summary statistics for all proposal submissions can be found at: rac.unm.edu/award-history/
