LOBOALERTS TEST 9.15.2026 - 10:45 a.m.: The University of New Mexico is planning an exercise of its Campus Warning System, including the central and south campus sirens, today, Sept. 15, at 11:02 a.m. This is only a test. For more information, visit news.unm.edu. At 11:02 a.m., the central and south campus sirens will sound for approximately one minute. The sirens will then be paused for one minute, followed by an "all clear" siren for approximately the same duration. The next full system exercise will be during the 2027 spring semester.

Fall 2025 call for proposals

If you are considering applying for a RAC grant, you are encouraged to begin a draft proposal early. Beginning a draft does not commit you to anything, and will let you see the full submission form and use it to help guide you through the process.

UNM voting faculty are invited to submit proposals for internal funding for small grants (budgets that are less than $5,000 per proposal), and large grants (budgets between $5,000 and the maximum of $10,000), with project duration of 18 months from the receipt of funds. The online proposal portal accepts submissions beginning . The proposal submission deadline is . The Committee will complete its deliberations by the following month.

Funding will be awarded through a competitive peer-review process. RAC-funded projects reflect the breadth of high-impact research and creative activity across our campuses.
